Barrio Barreto/Subic/ -- The Bars!

I've just returned from this area and not much has changes except the daily stuff. Here is my update for Tsm -- Enjoy!!

Barrio Barreto

The ROCK LOBSTER (In Mangos Restaurant)

Situated a couple of doors down from BARTS HOTEL and inside the main entrance to MANGOS Restaurant, (door on the right) is ROCK LOBSTER. There is a fairly large area with a bar and various tables and a dance floor (not used very often) The girls are nice enough and plentiful but, no costumes etc due to the local restrictions. Drinks are cheap enough, and the practice here is that having seen the mamasan, the girl will ask you where you are staying and then leave on her own and meet you there! A little concerning but it worked OK with me. I had a "bad" time in Subic (more on that later) but, don't let that put you off -- the place is nice enough and inexpensive.

I had started my evening in Mangos and had a meal with Percy -- whilst in there a girl came running over calling out my name -- It was a "friend" from Angeles I had seen back in March (small world).

We went bar hopping after the meal, and I stopped off at ROCK LOBSTER on my return. What is it about me??? I'm no Robert Redford and to my knowledge my Gold Card was in my wallet, not stuck on my forehead!! No sooner had I entered ROCK LOBSTER sat down and ordered a beer I had five flirtatious girls sitting around chatting away for almost an hour before I could decide which to buy a ladies drink for (no pressure which was nice). Now these girls were nice but, the one I spotted in there that was a 10 -- turned out to be the owners wife (damn). The five that were with me, were not exactly "spice girl" standard. There was a shy one, a frumpy one, one who reminded me of "Jaws" in the Bond Movie one clearly a cherry girl and a more mature one that was nothing special but, had a nice personality!

I decided that none were really to my tastes but, then the later offered me a relaxing massage, and after the night I had I decided that was just what I needed -- so mamasan was called and off she went and met me at the bar in Barts.

MAIN ATTRACTION

Another Bar, just up the road from Barts. Two Pool tables and only about half a dozen girls inside the night were there (A Saturday). There was one other customer inside. I played pool with one cutie who was nice but, decided to move on fairly quickly.

NIGHT RIDERS

A little more lively. Only One pool table, but heaps of "entertainers" and spent a little time here chatting away.. One real looker playing pool caught my eye, but, on closer inspection she was another "Jaws" ugh -- straight teeth are great but, these metal cages that they have to endure are real turn-off's for me.

MIDNIGHT GAMBLER

Across the road are one or two Karaoke type bars and these in my opinion are far better -- No I don't sing but, when a major say's no dancing, no costumes, then maybe these Karaoke bars are a better alternative. Some really nice lookers here and having them sing at least created some atmosphere and they all like singing and having fun :-). True, it is more expensive to "take out" here. But, it is worth it -- my mistake was that I didn't settle for this. I saw one stunner singing away but, decided duty before pleasure and went on with my bar hopping crusade for you guy's!

These bars in Barrio Barreto open around pm and close at 2 pm. Both Mr TSM and I agree (for once) This is not Angeles, both of us on two separate trips did not see too many girls in Night Rider or Main Attraction and of the three featured ROCK LOBSTER was probably the best (just).

NIGHT RIDER was better than Main Attraction. But, “MIDNIGHT GAMBLER” was the best of all but, is a KARAOKE bar. As in life, timing is everything, another time and these places could be a whole lot better...

Subic City

This area has a different Mayor so the dancers are allowed. It is only a short trike ride (P50) away from Barrio Barreto. Advise you head here first. These bars open earlier around 2 pm but, close around 10 pm. Drinks are P20 and ladies drinks from around P40 to P75. There are two main bars and a few others that are pretty poor by any standards.

FOXHOLE

Nice little Bar, with a stage in the middle. The girls dance in modest attire like in Angeles (some adjust themselves to reveal a Bikini) cheap drinks at P20 and Ladies Drinks at P40. There were one or two good lookers around, (and yes MR TSM Nori was still there and I sat opposite her with Percy).

Mr TSM barfined (Nori) from Foxhole but, she was a bust :-(. Once back at the Hotel she asked for his Walkman (to keep) soured her face when she couldn't watch TV, demanded food and said when she was ready, she might have a little hanky panky after a few gifts -- Mr TSM sent her home (lesson learned--don't take the prettiest, they have an ego as high as MT Everest.)

Nori sat opposite me like I said, we exchange glance's several times and the odd smile. I chatted away with the odd girl who walked by to say "hello" and then Nori came over "Hello handsome" or words to that effect -- I was sitting with Percy my Driver, and knowing Mr TSM's experience with this good looker, I was quick off the mark -- "sorry I'm a bacla, (gay) and he's with me" I said pointing at a shell shocked Percy. I witnessed the sour look Mr TSM had, and she quickly went back to her seat! Saved me a fortune I'd say! Not sure Percy was so happy at the time but, we had a good laugh about it outside after I explained to him that Nori was "known"....

Now, I also, in doing that probably blew my chances of finding a "friend" in Foxhole so on to the next bar....

TAHITI

Brilliant a Bar that was BUZZING. Plenty of dancers, nice costumes, a few good lookers and a pool table. Percy went out and got his cue from the car and proceeded to show us all what a pool shark is. Got into conversation with a couple of decent looking girls and bought them both a drink. I decided to invite one of them out and was working round to having a word with the mamasan.

No need, she came over and told the girl I wanted to be with for the rest of my life (Oh, alright for the rest of the night). To go back onstage and Dance....Wow! wait a minute, she was with me. I had bought two ladies drinks for her and we were talking.! No mamasan got "bitchy" and a argument quickly developed. The first time I had ever had one inside a bar with a mamasan. The result was I refused point blank to pay for the ladies drinks and left in a huff! O.K. so since I have now learned that their policy is the girls dance every half hour regardless, but, I STILL don't agree with that at all, so be aware, of that and keep cool (unlike me on the night).

These dance (go-go) bars are A/C, and generally friendly and fun. But since there are only "two" you will quickly become known as a "butterfly" if you try to score twice in the same bar. These girls (as most Filipinas) are possessive and proud. Walking in and taking another makes them lose face, so after two days here your options are limited (very limited) for new talent (as opposed to Angeles were you could take a barfine every night of the year and never be recognised twice :-). However, I have found little problem myself, if you make friends with them and explain you are not looking for a wife or a girlfriend and just want to have some fun -- being honest will in most cases, prevent any problems and some of the girls I go with, be/friend each other and do not mind "sharing" me!

Although this bar was the lowest class of all places (we agree again Mr TSM) it was the most fun, and the girls, (although not going to throw the Richter scale off the monitor) wee very simple but, loveable.

THE REST ....

There was not much else to report. There were several other drinking type bars that no doubt offered similar facilities to Kinky's Bar, and one Bar above and to the left of Foxhole (I think it was called the Blue Marlin or something like that) that had a balcony full of girls and maybe Bacla's by the look of some of them, calling out to you to come and join you..

As it was late and I had not had the best of times, missing out on the one true "10" at Tahiti, I decided to call it a night, and that is when I went back to ROCK LOBSTER and ended up with my massage girl. Talk about deceptive! When she changes she was wearing not one, but, THREE girdles -- Ugh the massage was fine though :-)
