Foreword ...
The Philippines FAQ gentleman's guide, is designed to give the single traveller a guide to what is available to see and do in the Philippines. We are not a tour operator of any description, and the information we give is designed to be helpful and informative to make your vacation to the islands as safe, enjoyable and as pleasant as possible.
We think the information provided is good for all travellers going to the Philippines.
We are aware the word "adult travel" brings up bad images -- this is not our intention here. We are trying to provide a honest and accurate (and done in good taste) account of what is available for the single male traveller. Be it culture exploring, mountain climbing, scuba diving, shopping or romance -- we try and tell it as it is. You are welcome to contact us for anything you'd like to have added or removed.
There are numerous destinations to explore and discover in the Philippines and we have tried to assemble a guide which includes recommended hotels for the tourist to visit and enjoy their trip in full. The transportation services in the Philippines are not up to "western" standards and one should remember that although the islands are beautiful and exotic, this is a "Third World Destination" and one should try to take this into account when visiting.
The infrastructure that most of us take for granted, (roads, rail, internet etc.) are just not up to standard and we advise using the scheduled tour operators and hotel guides, once in the Philippines.
It has mentioned that kidnapping is prevalent in
the Philippines -- this is rare and usually in the Provinces. You'll notice many
established hotels and airport departure areas write down your taxi license plates
-- just in case!
However if your a seasoned traveller then it is possible to get around and just enjoy
the life at your own pace. We guarantee you will find the Philippines a beautiful
destination for that "once in a lifetime" trip and leave echoing the words
of General MacArthur -- "I shall return ."
