How to get there :
San Juan, just 15 minutes by Jeepney from the resort area of Bauang Beach, and north of the provincial capital San Fernando. It is a hot spot for surfers in Luzon. There are a couple of places to stay, one on the beach and another on the highway that runs straight past San Juan beach.
For surfing enthusiasts we suggest you do a complete trip of this North Luzon area. From San Fernando you can get a bus up to Vigan and Badoc in the Ilocos province.

San Juan is lucky to be blessed with two seasons of surf, unlike most other surfing destinations in the Philippines. The better and more consistent waves can be found during November through until March.
The other season between July and October sees the swell direction change to south westerly. This period also coincides with the typhoon season in the Philippines. You will find some very large surf during these periods, but due to the nature of the weather you will also find less surfers. This can be a more productive period than during the high season when more surfers are around.

Generally, the middle of October sees the swell direction changes to a northerly swell. The Point at San Juan works the best when well is from the north, the lefts on the beach break are replaced with more inconsistent rights. The season carries through to March, and sometimes early April. Summer is from April through to early June, waves tend to be few during this period.
