It
has been some time since I last did a newsletter, so I thought it was about time,
I set aside some time and got my act together to update the Philippines FAQ (Yes,
after nearly 4 years!) and do an update on what has been happening over the last
few month's.
Angeles as many of you that have been here will know, changes frequently with new bars opening, and some closing, but one thing that remains constant, is that it is an ideal single gentleman's destination to have fun - FUN and more FUN! with 2,000 plus girls all waiting for you and available at around just US$20 a night!!! It's true, there is a heaven :)
So what is new? .........
Beeline Travel Services
Back in November last year we relocated our offices to Mega Mall near the America Hotel. The office is now three times the size of our previous office, and is also right next door to the go2phil.com office. We moved due to a proposed rent increase at our previous premises within Kokomos. The increase represented a 200% rise in rent, and frankly walk-in trade just did not justify the increase. Since then we have continued to operate in our new premises and have thankfully retained many of our valued clients and friends business. This despite a rival company opening in Kokomos to replace us.

Which brings me onto another issue within beeline travel at the moment. Our web-domain lapsed and through my own stupid fault I forgot to re-new it. (Thought I had registered it for 2 years when infact I only registered it 1 year!) The very day it lapsed a third party with travel agency connections 'snatched' the domain away and relocated our web-site! - I then got emails making demands for me to pay them a premium to get the domain name back. Such tactic's I find despicable, and totally unacceptable.
As a result it looks increasingly likely that, even as I write this newsletter we will have to change our domain name, and relocate our web site. If and when this happens, I will let everyone know via the message boards and various newsletters/email.

Angeles - Almanac
So what has been happening in Angeles over the last six months?
November 2001 -
The
town was fairly quiet even though the 'high' season was just kicking in. Kokomos
group even closes some of it's bars on the odd night and move girls to another to
reduce overheads. Blue Dolphin bar owner returns to Australia and closes the bar.
G-Spot opens at the bottom end of Fields, massive investment and a unique 'shower'
on the stage promise's some good clean fun! Word on the street that Splash Bar has
been sold by a long time TSMer Malibog Gary. Former Lollipop papasan Daddy Kel is
the new manager at Splash and they bring in a all day happy hour price to the bar....
Cuddles closed and the girls move in the main to KOD and Confetti's....Cottontails
opens...A new bar? - No! Just Loveboat in Angeles Broadway renamed.... Up on Perimeter
road, a landmark of Angeles, Jerry's Cafe closes and after extensive renovations
re-opens as the Stampede Bar & Grill - new owners install new bar area and air-con
in a now enclosed restaurant. A big improvement on the old Jerry's. - Drainage work
that was down Santos St, now hits Fields Ave from Kokomos heading up towards the
Ville. Fields is chaos with traffic and road closed off in places.
December 2001 -
The
festive season is here - the tourists are still not! Or not in any numbers until
Christmas week itself. KED Transport goes crashing to the ground... The locally run
Transport company based next to The Jungle and The Kitten club, closed it's doors
and was knocked down. Word has it that a new bar or hotel is to be erected in it's
place. KED's meanwhile do a major deal and have an open aired table outside Illusions!
- Birds of a Feather flew it's nest as well, and closed operations above Papilion.....
Ziggy's having moved a year earlier from it's old location (Where Brown Sugar now
is) closes it's doors inside Angeles Broadway... For good this time? Now the only
bar in the four bar complex is the newly re-named Cottontails. Erotica opens.....The
new bar renovated from the old Private Dancer Too is a bar similar to it's owners
other bar, Black Jacks. The layout and design is so bad you need binoculars to see
the dancers on stage behind the live band and singers!..... Orchid Inn goes
Latin American.....Not really, but they open an on-site bar called Flamingo's. Silk
Stockings is another on the verge of opening at the back of Treasure Island......Go2Phil
stages it's first Wet T Shirt contest - voted a huge success and a very 'bold' venture!
- Get the video from Rick's Cafe!.... On Fields Ave, opposite Volcano, the drainage
work begins... There is a big hole in the road!
January 2002 -
Orchid
Inn follow suit and stage their first Wet T Shirt contest, after a few days Kokomos
do their New Year Wet T Shirt contest. Kitten Club has an Anniversary and install
a shower on stage, so they can do a Wet T Shirt contest. Mayor of Angeles wants to
stage a water festival like in Thailand so that everyone in Angeles can have
a Wet T Shirt contest.... Kokomos Boutique buys up all available water pistols and
cannons in anticipation of the event...(only joking).....Two bar owners seen in heavy
conversation over slack business come up with a storming brainwave, they decide to
have a Wet T Shirt contest at Splash in the Fishtank!........Papilion closes....
Papilion re-opens now under new owners and with a new name, Angels. No new line up
though, and same decor. Up on Perimeter Road a new bar with a sports theme Blue K
opens. There are a few waitresses and entertainers, no dancers as this is just a
'sports bar' with TV screens, a pool table and darts board. Nice place though. The
Red & White Cafe and The Little Mermaid Bar at the Mega Mall, re-open after the
Danish owner returns from Denmark.......Jadecool relocates to Makati and closes it's
Cybersister operation on Fields Ave - A large rent increase being given as the reason.
Meanwhile on Fields Ave that hole is getting bigger, and filling up with water and
crap washed down Fields Ave...... They also start digging up the road upto Angeles
Broadway. Olle Thai roars into town and applies
for a job at Treasure Island. At the end of the month there was a much needed Wet
T Shirt contest at Kokomos.- Not to be out done, G-Spot holds a Wet T Shirt contest
with a difference! They add several gallons of chocolate syrup and call it a Mud
Wrestling event......Later that night hoards of visitors were seen splattered
in the brown stuff.....That hole is now finished on Fields and they have installed
a massive 'cattle grid' right across the street..... The only cows I have seen in
Angeles do not have four legs! - The grid will become something of a talking point
in later month's when the rainy season starts and the thing fills up and smells!
February 2002 -
What
better way to start the month than to stage the first Wet T Shirt contest of the
month at Kokomos. Splash Bar Wet T Shirt contest fails and the bar closes. Re-opens
the next day as loads of girls dressed as storm troopers or something gather outside
the bar. The bar changes it's name to Marine Bar. - Maybe they should have called
it the Wet T Shirt bar! It's announced that Ayers Rock will open...... But, they
then realize they have not installed a shower on the stage for Wet T Shirt contests
so cancel the proposed opening and have a pool party instead at the Bonanza. - The
drainage work continues. Now up by the Checkpoint. They pull down all the squatters
huts opposite the Ville.....At last...... Marine Bar papasan Daddy Kel comes up with
a new bar hop called 'Rent-a-Crowd' but the idea fails after two weeks as no crowds
turned up, rented or otherwise. TQ is sold and closed for renovations.... Erotica
briefly closes and changes are made to the lay out, they now do two shows a week.....
As yet no Wet T Shirt contest.
March 2002 -
The
squatters rebuild their huts this time with concrete and steel...... wonder how many
Piggies this will need to huff and puff and blow their huts down?......Club Rio formerly
The Jolly Frog opens. They start building a new bar where KED's once was, the bar
will be called Monte Carlo and run by the same owner as Las Vegas Bar....... There
is a protest march at Clarkgate, not sure if it was against the American troops
arriving or against the staging of scantily clad young ladies having their tee shirts
soaked in water.....Swagman Mardi Gra takes place and the highlight was The Wet T
Shirt contest.... The drainage work continues and there is a smell coming up already
from the cattle grid over Fields Ave.....Just to try and distract peoples attention
from the smell, Kokomos stage a Wet T Shirt contest...SOB meetings start.... Sons
of Bachuss is an exact copy of the long established Doghouse
meetings held on Tuesdays.... SOB runs on a Thursday....... Mo is the brains behind
this and successful they are too-so far...Ayers Rocks opens but the restuarant section
remain closed...... Marine Bar digs a huge well inside the bar so they will have
an endless supply of water for their Wet T Shirt contests, just after they complete
it, their electric get's cut off, so they close the bar.
April 2002 -
Silk
Stockings stage a SOB meeting Woody's supply the food..... Nobody wants it because
it was so bad....Or rather the catering arrangements were so bad, they just
dumped the food and left the bar staff to serve it... Not being Filipino food they
did not know what to serve on a plate of good old fish 'n chips...At least one customer
has three girls with him off stage and went through 1.5 bottles of Tequila. Which
is strange, as the next day when the owners went through the receipts, and not one
ladies drink was accounted for at the SOB...... Silk Stockings closes and announces
refurbishment plans - sacking all their staff in the process.... Mamasam and girls
head off to the Jungle. - There are piles and piles of dirt all over Fields as drainage
work continues.....Red and White Cafe closes as does Little Mermaid Bar...... Ayers
Rock remains open and getting great reviews except for the restaurant - that remains
un-opened.
May 2002 -
Moondoggies
re-opens after development as the Staggers bar and Asia Internet Center...... The
Red and White Cafe and Little Mermaid bar re-opens as the owner of Black Jack's expands
his empire to open the Gentleman's Bar and hangout.... problem is thus far, there
are hardly any girls and even less gentleman attending and nobody to hangout with.
There was a lull in activity around town so Kokomos staged a Wet T Shirt contest
just to make sure everyone was occupied. The SOB meeting at Angels went ahead as
planned and as Woody's had made such a mess of things at Silk Stockings, they decided
they just couldn't be as bad again, so hired them as caterers again..... They succeeded
themselves and provided even worse food..... Woody's closed. Silk Stocking having
re-hired staff, re-opens. Ayers Rock Restaurant remains - un-opened! -Monte Carlo
Bar opens. The drainage work continues..... The rainy season starts..... All the
bars on Fields decide to have Mud Wrestling contests.... They don't need any syrup
or water, they just all go outside and fight in the streets in real mud.
*Just in case anybody takes me seriously, the events above all happened but, have been written in jest!*

Surfing in the Philippines
To finish off this Newsletter, I thought I'd throw something at you that may interest some of you more adventurous and energetic types.
