Comments from another fellow: Burbujas. Right across the street from the Don Juan. No chica hassles or upcharges. All rooms have air, hot-water, cable TV, generator. Rooms are $35 including taxes, $30 if staying 4 or more nights. Will hold your reservations, but make sure you call during the day. Call 809-523-6813. Ask for the friends of Johnny Walker/James Bond rate if staying less than 4 nights and you want to pay only $30 per night. Pay cash and use an alias if that is convenient.

The rooms are standard hotel rooms, nothing special. Bring your own beach towels, shampoo, soap. The do provide towels. Small charge for use of in-room safe. Very friendly staff will fetch you anything you need from water to food for a small tip. Practically ON the beach, located right on the main strip. Everything you could want is withing a block or two - food, bank, phone center, beach, cash exchange, cigar shop, pharmacy, beach shops, etc. A good outpost.

In a recent episode in June 1999, a friend had a girl turned away due to a lack of a cedula (ID) - so the place is not as T-S-M friendly as it once was.
