DOING THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC-SOUTH,
EAST AND NORTH
PART 1 - GENERAL OBSERVATIONS
Although a long time TSM lurker, this is my first report to post so, please be patient and gentle. Also, my apologies that no photos accompany this report but my video camera with all the stills captured on memory stick got flooded while scuba diving late in the trip so all was lost.
My experiences in the D.R.,
and consequently this report, may be somewhat atypical of the usual TSM post since
my priorities during my 3 weeks there were (in descending order):
(1) scuba diving (2) exploring the hinterlands (3) avoiding the crush of European
tourists and, finally, (4) chasing chicas. The demands of an early morning wake-up
to make the dive schedule severely hampered my ability to sample the usual clubs
and late night haunts for which the D.R. is renown. However, having spent time in
Santo Domingo, Boca Chica/Juan Dolio, Bayahibe/La Romana, Sosua/Cabarete and many
points in between, I think that I got a pretty good feel for other aspects of the
country. Parenthetically, this was not my first trip to the D.R. but my other visits
were limited to business trips to Santo Domingo and a couple of non-TSM type vacations
at all inclusive resorts in Punta Cana.
Before getting to the specifics of my personal experiences in Dominican debauchery, Iíll just throw out a few general observations about the Dominican Republic garnered from my activities there, such as they were. The D.R. veterans and old hands among you may have to forgive me here if I seem to simply state the obvious or appear somewhat ingenuous.
GENERAL OBSERVATIONS:
1. The Pros - When it comes to the true ìworking girlsî, the D.R. ranks far, far below other venues such as Thailand, Brazil, Colombia, P.I., Indonesia, etc., etc. Among the pro ranks real beauties (say, 8's, 9's or 10's) are few and far between. Yes, they ARE there; but one has to work at finding them. In other words, aggressive ìcullingî becomes a necessity.
2. Non-Pros - On the other hand, the D. R. is a virtual smorgasbord for non-pros (assuming, of course, that there really IS such a thing as a ìnon-proî in the D.R.). Admittedly, the fact that I speak fluent Spanish, drove all over the country and can keep from making an absolute fool of myself when dancing the Merengue or the Bachata, may have had a positive impact on my personal experiences in this regard.
3. Types of Chicas - In a grossly generalized fashion, I would categorize the chicas in the D.R. thus:
(A) Pros - The hard core working girls found in the ìcasasî, hanging out in the bars, walking the streets, etc. My few experiences with the true pros were bad to mediocre.
(B) Semi Pros - These are girls with regular day jobs, students, waitresses, barmaids, etc. who, although above hawking their wares on the street, are usually open to some P4P. They are often quite selective in that they wonít go with just anybody. And, they may take some courting. For example, these girls probably wouldnít give the time of day to the old, fat, drunk Italians and Germans who are the typical denizens of the Boca Chica scene.
(C) Non Pros - O.K., just
go along with me on this one for the nonce and assume that there is such a thing
as a ìnon proî in the D.R. These are the girls who you wonít
find around the bars, clubs, usual tourist establishments or TSM hangouts.
They may be students, clerks, nurses or whatever. They are not that hard to find
if one speaks a little Spanish, has a car, gets out into the small towns or barrios.
And they are not that hard to get into bed if one acts the gentleman and treats them
with respect. I suspect that they would be highly offended if one were to offer them
money outright either up front or after the fact as compensation for the sex. I did
neither. However, a THANK YOU gift for ìshowing me around townî or for
ìteaching me how to dance the Bachataî was rarely rejected though it
might be accepted with some reluctance, feigned or otherwise.. I should insert something
here about making it with the non-pros or picking up a girlfriend. I am not a hard
body Adonis and the AARP has my address. I think the key is to be a gentleman, treat
the girl respectfully, be generous with compliments and try not to come off as just
another ìwhore mongeringî tourist. Speaking the language helps.
(4)The Preponderance of Prostitution
in the D.R. - Prostitution is positively rampant in the D.R. Aquaholic developed
his own theory as to why this is so. It is an intrinsic part of Dominican culture
that the Dominican male readily abandons his mate after she has had a kid or two.
They simply walk away from the woman and their kids. There is no sense of responsibility
toward the kids and there is no law with teeth for demanding child support or any
kind of assistance. I wouldnít be surprised if 8 of 10 prostitutes are in
the life because they were abandoned and had little other recourse for supporting
the kids.
And, yes, most pros do have kids and had them when very young. There is a popular
Bachata by the Grupo Aventura called ìAmor De Madreî that says it all
in the lyrics. I watched hard core pros moved to tears on more than one occasion
while listening to that song. But Iím not THAT naive or maudlin. Certainly,
a lot of the prostitution has to do with another thing that is intrinsic to Dominican
culture; and that is that in the D.R., sex is quite simply....... recreation!!!
(5)The Music - If the visitor canít get into the feel of the Bachata and Merengue, he has missed one of the real joys of being in the country. If you can more or less dance to either, new doors open up. I was never, not once, in any kind of establishment, with any kind of girl, turned down when I asked for a dance. They love to dance and are very forgiving toward those of us who are less than graceful when tripping the light fantastic. My best successes in finding ìgirlfriendsî or making it with a non-pro usually started with talking about the music or with a dance. My best pickup line, as it were, was usually something like: ìWhat is the name of that song?î or ìWho is singing that song?î and from there it all evolved naturally. Over the course of my stay, I learned the lyrics to a few of my favorite Bachatas. Consequently. I could usually generate some kind of approach when the girls would see this stupid gringo mouthing the words to a popular Bachata.
(6) Beer in the D.R. - The entire world should take lessons from the folks in the D.R. on how to serve beer. Even the scruffiest little ìcolmadoî in some tiny village serves beer about four degrees short of snow cone consistency and about two degrees shy of a Slushie. Although generally not much of a beer drinker, I put away copious quantities of Presidente just because it tastes so damned good when served a notch above ice cold.
(7)The People - The people of the D.R. are genuinely friendly, sweet natured, helpful and outwardly happy acting. Even when plying the backroads and walking the back alleys at night, I never felt uncomfortable or threatened. Many sources warn against the high incidence of crime and other calamitous probabilities which can befall the visitor in the D.R. I say: ìBalderdashî. I spent a great deal of time in rough neighborhoods and in clubs and bars which were strictly hangouts for the locals. The Dominican males in these places were invariably polite and friendly. In La Romana, I escorted three girls to some of the local clubs. Even though I was obviously with one of them and the other two were ìfreeî, the Dominican guys always asked my permission before inviting one of the girls to dance. My Mama taught me that doing that was simply good manners but I have to say that I rarely see that practiced in the U.S. In the back streets of Charamico one night, I drove my car off into a ìsanjaî. A dozen or more guys convened to assist me and literally lifted the car out of its resting place. There were plenty of other examples. I think that the only thing that the traveling single man has to be concerned about in the D.R. is the hard core pro. See Domincan Billyís earlier post about one ripping him off to the tune of 1,000 Pesos. And he knows the territory, the language and the drill!!!
(8) Dominican Fashion - When it comes to the Dominican women, the fashion statement de riguer appears to be driven by the philosophy: ìIf youíve got it, flaunt itî. Plunging necklines, no bras, skimpy bikinis, etc. are the order of the day. And of course, the ubiquitous skin tight pants molded around those magnificent Dominican asses. On the other hand, when it comes to the European male tourist, the unwashed slob look is definitely ìinî.
(9) Driving In The D.R. - If you can drive in L.A. or New York, then forget all the warnings about NOT driving in the D.R. I logged over 600 miles from South to East to North over expressways and back roads with no problem. The roads are well marked. The four lane toll road between Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Marcoris and between Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata (well at least as far as Santiago) are super. Crossing Santo Domingo was a bit complex but I didnít get lost. Donít get me wrong though. Driving in the D.R. isnít like a Sunday drive in Peoria. Of course you have to drive defensively and watch everything going on both in front and behind you. Rules of the road are lightly regarded. Driving at night is especially challenging. Dimming lights at night is subject to sheer whim. Potholes abound on the lesser roads. The ìmotoconchosî are a real hazard, especially at night. But if you drive cautiously and donít get in a hurry, thens driving in the D.R. need not require a death wish.
The great advantages of renting a car in the D.R., as has been covered in various posts by Bruce, are:
(1) You can get out and see the real D.R
(2) Itís a great tool for picking up chicks. Yes, I cashed in on the ìhitchhikerî thing, too.
Now, we break for a commercial:
I used Advantage Rent A Car since I had seen a post by Bruce recommending them. I
made arrangements with Gypsy by email and before all the details were finalized,
we were ìtuteandoî and addressing one another as ìmi amorî
and other such endearments. In the negotiating process, I confess that (without his
authorization) I used Bruceís name, saying that he had recommended their agency.
I said the magic word because from that point on, I was given real VIP treatment.
The car was delivered to me in Boca Chica with the provision that I could drop it
off any place in the country. I didnít since I ended up driving across the
country to Puerto Plata, but the car was turned over to me with little more than
a handshake and Bruceís name. I spent a couple of hours chatting with Gypsy
at the PP airport later and she is an absolute delight. I endorse their service highly.
End of general observations and presumptuous pontificating. The blow by blow report follows later.

I anxious to read your report. Most of my time is divided between these two counties (Colombia and DR), but for different reasons. Exploring the DR is amazing and will comment when done but ...
1.) Driving at night is such a pain. Courtesy doesn't exit but strange when these guys are out of there cars they are helpful (and even change a tire for you) but behind the wheel --assholes. Also, don't drive Sunday night. Eveyone has been drinking all day -- need I say more.
2.) Gypsy, ah Gypsy. I'm trying to get her to send a photo and have another contest to see who can get the first date. A real find and she has now two offices, one at the PP airport and center of Cabarete

On the road in the Dominican Republic
Since the end of November, December and January 2003 I've been in Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, San Cristobal, Bani, Azua, Barahona, Los Patos on the south coast. On the north coast I visited Monte Cristi, Mao, Punta Rucia, Isabela, Luperon, Cabarete, Rio San Juan, Cabera, Las Terrenas, and El Portillo. Made a over night trip to San Franisco de Macoris.
Which places do I like best? My own home town of Puerto Plata, no place like home, Sosua, Cabarete, Rio San Juan, Las Terrenas and El Portillo are my favorites. Chicas are friendly and easy to find along with companion friendly accommodations.
In the interior and on the south coast you need some more Spanish and introductions, just pay a friendly motorconcho 100 pesos to show you around and that will do the trick usually. But bars are not as numerous as on the north coast and I found the carwash discos and nightclubs a lot more hardcore than here in Puerto Plata and the north coast in general. Hardcore, you bet, while in Boca Chica I had one lovely little thing take 1000 pesos out of my walet and the only time I got up was to get the water out of the fridge. Smart enough not to take it all but she got an extra 1000 with a little slight of hand.
Having a car is a great advantage, don't be driving so fast as you can't stop to pick up a pretty hitchhiker. On my way to Boca Chica I stopped for a nice chica who was going from La Vega to Bonao (about 15 miles) When I explained that I was going to Boca Chica and didn't know my way through Santo Domingo she offered to be my guide. She had family in Santo Domingo and would use the opportunity to visit them. We arrived in Boca Chica about 2 pm and she told me she wanted to get back to the bus stop before 6 pm to get into Santo Domingo. Not being too slow I took that as she had time to spend with me at the hotel as it turned out that is exactly what was meant. After a nice relaxing interlude after a long drive I took her to the bus stop.
Places to stay:
1)Cabarete visit the Obsessions bar and ask the owner Franco for the best place to
stay nearby. The girls at his bar are independent and the sunken bar below also has
lots of chicas with their own rooms nearby. Also just before Cabarete there is a
bar/disco "el Equipo" that has maybe 18-20 chicas who stay in rooms at
the back of the place, worth a visit.
2)Rio San Juan at the Bahia Blanca Hotel and visit the Nuevo Millium disco. Ask for
Lourdis, her cousins Rosana and Jasmine or Jessenia, at the disco. Included ia a
photo taken at the bar with Jessenia, Lourdis, Rosana and Lemari.
3)Las Terrenas has a nice hotel named "Hotel Casa Nina" that some of my
friends stayed at, very nice for $20.us per night. While there they gave high marks
to the two discos "Yin Yang" and "Nuevo Mundo". Be advised that
in Sosua at the Hi-Caribe disco and most of the discos I've mentioned the action
doesn't start until after 11:30 pm.

Dominican Republic Trip ... in Depth
Posted by Gary on February 02, 1997 at 06:39:02:
Being my third trip, I knew mostly where I wanted to go in Santo Domingo. Never settling for anything less then 1st class, I booked five nights at the Ramada Juragua (sp?) resort and casino. Itís a 5 star Hotel in the heart of the capital city that has NO problems allowing girls in the rooms. They will even record the girlís ID before they go up with you to insure that you wonít come out of the shower to find your girl and your possessions gone.
Hotel Prices ...
The guard won't allow the girl up to your room without a special pass. I believe
the recording of the girls ID is temporary and will not be kept after you checkout.
But if this is important to you, you should ask. The room price was $75 with a discount
coupon (closer to $90 with tax). All the rooms are quite large with a mini bar and
cable TV from the states. I used the minibar fridge to store the bottled water, soda
and beer I bought at a nearby Bodega. The price was about one third of what the hotel
would have charged me.
Having never been to Boca Chica, I decided to spend the last two nights of my week at that combination beach resort - open air whore house. Based on some advice I had seen on the net, I decided to stay at the Oasis hotel. Rooms there were $35 - $50 with no tax added.
The flight ...
My first class flight from Chicago was relatively
uneventful. I had carried on my baggage, so I breezed through immigration and customs
and grabbed the first cab I saw to take me into town. The rate is still fixed by
the government at $20 US. Just to make things easy, I think Iíll just convert
all amounts reported here into US dollars.
After arriving at the Ramada, I shower and changed and headed out to find a cab. Let me digress for one minute to talk about transportation in Santo Domingo. You need cabs to get around ( I donít recommend renting a car). In any case the cab in front of your hotel will probably charge you 400% of the normal fare. There is no haggling. You can get a cab much cheaper on the street, but several tourists have been beaten and robbed going that route. There are several taxi companies you can call if your Spanish is ok. But I found them to be unreliable. Last thing you want is to waste an hour waiting for a taxi. Some also have attitudes about going to the ëCasasí.
Cabs ...
Best bet is to walk to the next hotel over (in my case the Sheraton). Here for some
reason you can haggle (best to get several cabbies competing for your business).
Now if you where staying in that hotel no deals. But because your staying elsewhere
you can bargain at that hotel (screwy system huh). From your hotel, a trip to any
of the cat houses, about 30 minutes waiting and the trip back for you and your true
love will run you about $14. Just by walking next store to the Sheraton, I never
paid more then $7. That difference can add up over the course of a week. I even arranged
for my main man from the Sheraton (Louis) to pick me up right at the front door of
the Juragua, but still only paid the $7.
Before I get into the carnal details, let me tell
you that I'm terrible with names. Wherever I remembered them, Iíll share them
with you here. But please donít ask me for those I don't remember. Those of
you that have read of my previous exploits know that my favorite place in Santo Domingo
is Casa Rosada. For $100 per night (or about $96 if you pay with local dinero) one
can find a gorgeous, light skinned and young latina to spend the night with. In my
other two trips, I've had both great and good experiences there.
How to select a women ...
For all the hundreds of times I've selected a woman in a establishment such as Casa Rosada, I've never quite figured out the science of it. Generally the women fall into two groups. There are the eager beavers (pardon the bad pub) that sit close to you and try to get your attention. Then there are the coy ones who keep their distance. Unless you know the girl in advance, itís always a crap shoot. Iíve had good and bad experiences with both the eager beavers and the shy ones. The only rule that seems to hold most (but not all) of the time is that the best looking girls arenít the best lays. I've found that to be true in purely social situation as well. Sometimes it's worth the trade off just to be with a beauty queen. Other times I've gotten lucky and found a model type who is also wild in bed. They are rare prizes. And I've found a few of them at Casa Rosada.
Casa Rosada
In any case that night there was a drop dead gorgeous girl who was kinda playing peekabo with me. Unlike many other Latinas she was tall and really built. Very light skinned, she looked about 17 or 18. So I gave her a go and selected her. In the cab ride home, I got my first hint that this wasnít going to be one of those life time memory nights. Instead of snuggling up next to me as had all the other exceptional girls, this one sat demurely on the other side of the cab.
Since I have a lot of girls to report on, let me keep my description of my first night brief. On the plus side she had and absolutely unbelievable body (no signs of child birth), a cheerful outgoing personality and was a very enthusiastic lay (I think I still have her claw marks on my back). On the down side she wouldn't blow me without a rubber, no mouth kissing, her concern about messing her hair was disruptive, and at 12 AM she asked to leave (this had never happened with a girl from Rosada). We had done it twice and I was exhausted from the trip so I let her go.
As for daytime activities, buy a guide book. Suffice it to say that at least during the daylight hours, I found Santo Domingo a nice town to walk around.
Casa Coco
The next night I was really in a quandary. Should I go back to Rosada or not. So based on some information I got from a street tout, I decided to try a different place called Casa Coco. On walking into this place my enthusiasm was almost instantly quashed. The girls here just werenít up to your Connoisseurís high standards. Many where down right dogs. There was one however that was certainly well in the acceptable range (your connoisseur has high standards). She was also in the eager beaver group. Sitting close and making a good deal of eye contact.
So I took her home for the night. Bingo, this one had a great personality. Lotsa warm foreplay, kissing and very good blow jobs without a rubber (I always use one for the horizontal hula). We went to the casino together and had a great time. I must confess that when we said goodbye the next day I was tempted to ask her to spend the week with me. But truth be known I am a slut and do enjoy meeting a lot of different girls on these trips.
Massage
The next day I wanted to take it a little easier,
go to bed early and get a good nights sleep. So again on the advise of a street tout
I tried what was advertised as the best massage place in Santo Domingo. I had meant
to bring home that card so I could give you the particulars, but lost it somewhere.
It's a couple of blocks behind the Sheraton and for a buck or two any street tout
should be able to show you where it is. Be forewarned that they close by 10:00 PM.
But since I wanted to turn in early that suited me fine. In any case, the place had
about 6 or 7 Ok looking girls. I choose the cutest and paid the fee of about $60.

Was the massge parlor you visited called MonaLisa. This is right behind the Sheraton -- Calle Danae no.35. Prices here are not cheap. 800 pesos gets you a Thai-Style massage and a blowjob. 1750 pesos gets you all that and full sex. The girl I was with was sensational, however. Her name was Luisa. Very professional massage, and a masterful bj artist.
One of my best expereince sin Santo Domingo, but
also the most expensive.
The rooms where nice with attached bath and AC.
We both stripped and bathed (though not together). She proceeded to cover me from
head to toe with some awesome honey perfumed hot massage oil. She then used her whole
naked body to massage me. It was very erotic. She gave me some oral attention to
Mr. Johnson, but it was mostly on the side (not a true blow job). She spent about
30 minutes slipping and sliding around on me. I tried to hint I wanted to be in her,
but she wasnít buying it. I was having a great time so I didnít push
it. I finally blew my load between her ample palongos.
Gambling ...
Every night (and some days) I was down there I was gambling. Minimum bet at most tables is 25 pesos which is a little less then $2 American. My luck was excellent and I paid for about half the total trip cost with winnings. Then again, maybe I was just getting back some of the dough I left there on previous trips. Had I been playing in dollars and not pesos, I probably could have bankrolled the whole trip. I also shared my good luck with the locals and tipped much more generously then I normally would (I'm a big believer in Karma).
Casa Manolo
Night four I decided to try Casa Manolo. I hadn't been there since my first trip to Santo Domingo. You may remember that my first experience there had only been so - so. Again the fee was the standard $100 (about $96 if you pay in Pesos). The selection of girls was ok, but not as nice as Casa Rosada or Casa de Models. I picked a cute blonde. For some reason I remembered this girls name. It was Sara. Her name was the only memorable thing about her. She did an adequate, but unremarkable job back in the room. Tired, I sent her home at 1 or 2 AM.
Casa De Models
Night five was to be my last night in SD. I choose to go to Casa De Models. Immediately upon entering I was smitten by a gorgeous girl. Her name was Elizabeth. I invited her to sit down next to me. After she sat down I began to wonder if I had made a mistake. She just didnít seem interested. No eye contact. No touching. No attempt at conversation. In the mean time there was another girl on the other side of the room that was really giving me the eye. She was very pretty, though a bit on the skinny side for my taste. I made a quick switcheruni. It was a good call. She was great in bed. After a couple of rounds in the room, we went down to the casino. My luck continued to hold and I won more then enough to pay for the evening. Even my girl was able to turn the $10 I gave her into $70 (which of course she kept).
About 3 or 4 in the morning my woman started to
feel sick (sneezing and such like she was catching cold) so I sent her home. Several
other poster have mentioned the hookers that hung out in the casino at the hotel.
I flirted with them, bought them drinks, danced with them in the Meringue Lounge
and gave them money for their kids. But most all just weren't up to your Connoisseurís
very high standards. About half I wouldnít do for free. About five in the
morning I was really making a good deal of money at the crap table and my good luck
charm was this ok looking girl that had been trying been trying to get into my room
all week.
Having won so much, I just had to take her back to my room with me. I was sooooo
tired I didn't think I'd be able to get it up, but Mary was unstoppable. She gave
me a great swallowing blow job. You gotta love the swallowers. They are really hard
to find. I just lied on the bed and didn't move a muscle (ok one muscle). Perfect
ending to my stay in Santo Domingo. I gave her about $45 and sent her on her way.

For those of you who can't drink the water or eat the local food....there is the good old American fast food restaurant.
In Santo Domingo we now have:
WENDYS
BURGER KING
Mc DONALDS
DAIRY QUEEN
K F C
BASKIN ROBBINS
SUBWAY
DOMMINO PIZZA
TACO BELL
PIZZA HUT
Now that your tummy is full .....how about a nice massage. Try "D'Blanca" There's one in the Capital {Alma Rosa district. You will need a cab} and there is one in Boca Chica {Three blocks up from the park} 300 Pesos will get you a 45 min professional massage and for a couple of hundred more pesos they will NIBBLE YOUR NOODLE. These places are modern, clean and worth at least a glance and a cold Presidente.
There is another type of place that is not well known. That is the family house. "Casa de Familia" There you will find College gils trying to make a couple of extra pesos between clsses. The one I recommend is called "Austreias"{shes the Mama San} It is located in the northern part of Santo Domingo. To get there go north on Maximo Gomez to the cemetary. At the north end of the cemetary turn right and go till you come to the " Hotel El Princepe." Turn left at the hotel and go north one block and turn right. This will put you directly behind the hotel. Look for a yellow house with a green door or is it green house with a yellow door. Anyway the no. is 25 . Knock three times and say Patricio from Boca Chica sent you.
Inside you will find an almost empty room with a bunch of lovely ladys standing around. Choose one and pay the salida or exit fee. {300 Pesos} Then take this beauty back to your cave. These girls can only go for a short time as they live at home with mom and dad and are sneaking out. The hours are from 3pm until 7pm. Get ther early and you can find a drop dead beautifull almost virgin.
Let me know if this is helpfull to to you guys.
* Casa Rosada (Santo Domingo)
Blows the Santo Domingo competition away for sheer number of attractive women. I used to think Casa de Modeles was better, but how wrong I was, at least based on my latest experience. Took two women from here on different nights-- both from Santiago (I must have a thing for Santiago women!).
* Casa de Familia Australia (Calle Ramon Ramirez, No. 125, SD)
My best encounter of the two weeeks came with Marcia - 19 years old. She wasn't my first choice in Casa Australia though. When I got there at around 4 p.m., there was a stunning long-legged model type with blondish hair. Her name is Nanny and she's 18. I didn't hesitate two seconds before pointing her out to Australia - the woman of the house. Unfortunately, Nanny had been snapped up by a Dominican businessman a few moments earlier. Next time I'm in SD, Nanny will be first on my agenda. Oh well, thank God for Marcia - who quickly made me forget Nanny. Marcia was very sweet and gave tireless head - she just kept going and going like it was her favorite activity in the world. She even invited me to go meet her family in Azua, but I declined in favour of the other wonders that the DR has to offer.
* Mona Lisa Centro de Masaje (Santo Domingo)
Certainly one of the DR's wonders is the Mona Lisa. Yes, it's expensive at 1800 pesos for one hour, but boy are these girls skilled at what they do. They really work you over from head to toe. My favorite here was Jahaira (19 yrs. old), who had only started there a couple of days before. The demure type, Jahaira looked Indian. Great kisser and excellent bj. I toyed with the idea of taking her away for the day, but balked at the 3000 peso fee. I'd have to rank Jahaira a close second to Marcia.
* Duque de Wellingto Hotel (Santo Domingo)
Location. Value. And TSM friendly. What more can you ask for? Location is especially good. It's within walking distance of Lapsus, Mona Lisa, the Malecon, and the major casinos. There's also a great vegetarian restaurant nearby (Ananda). Duque prices are 450 pesos for clean room, a/c, cable tv.

In an effort to help out those venturing to the
Dominican Republic, I have posted a series of experiences I have had over the past
6 months. I hope you find these short reviews informative.
************************************************************
PLACE: LE PETIT CHATEAU
It may be a little farther than many of the Casa's in the city, it's well worth the ride to pay a visit to Le Petit Chateau. You will be pleasantly surprised by the great looking and very friendly women at the Chateau.
Like Lapsus, the Chateau's girls perform a burlesque-type of show which begins around 12:30am. It's nothing great, but you will have an opporuntity to see what the merchandise looks like before you bring it home. This can be very beneficial because some of the women look alot better out of clothes -- and vice-versa.
I've frequented the Chateau a number of times and have always been satisfied with the numerous selections. I would have to say that Le Petit Chateau ranks on the top of my list (right next to Rosada).

PLACE: MANOLO
Here's another place that I've heard many call a "piano bar," however, I've never seen or heard a piano in this place.
I'm always suspect of place where they keep the lights turned low -- maybe they have something to hide. The girls are not overly eager to get to know you at Manolo and their looks leave something to be desired. I have been to Manolo three times over the past 4 months and have not left with a piece of the action.
There is a plus to Manolo that I have not seen anywhere else in Santo Domigo: they have a television dedicated to showing XXX-Rated videos. I guess they think it will help sell the girls, however, it did not work for me.
Manolo is probably okay for those of you who want to have some drinks, not feel pressured and take in the sights (if you can see them).

PLACE: CASA TERESA
While some call Teresa a "piano bar," I can tell you that it's more like a disco where the music is very lound and the women are pretty rough. Even though there are plenty of young and eager women available, I would advise all not to set your sights too high. If you like the fuller-figured type, Teresa may just be the place for you.
I am uncertain of pricing at Teresa, but it's probably safe to say that it's cheaper than Casa Rosada and about the same as Manolo.

PLACE: CASA ROSADA / PABLITO
By far, the famous Casa Rosada (formerly Pablito) is the classiest in all of Santo Domingo. This casa is famous for having the most beautiful women the Dominican Republic has to offer.
I have visited Rosada many times where I have found it to be hit-or-miss, depending on the time of the evening that I have arrived. I've found it best to get to Rosada early (@ 8:30 - 9:00pm) because the prettier women are selected first and can be gone by 9:30pm. There have been nights were I have not seen anything of interest, and other times where I've been floored by a great selection of incredible looking women.
Most of my experiences with women from Rosada have been very positive. I can tell you that the women may not seem friendly at first, but they are generally very willing to please you.
I would have to rate Rosada as the top place in Santo Domingo for TSM members.
By the way, you really do get what you pay for. Rosada is not cheap ($80 to stay in, $115 to take out).

PLACE: LAPSUS
Located behind the Hotel Jaragua, Lapsus is a nightclub where the women are available for "hire," should you so desire. The quality of the women vary, although you will not find too many in the 8-10 categories.
The main drawback to Lapsus is the fact that there is burlesque-type show which starts at around 12:15am and does not get interesting until much later. I am uncertain whether or not you can take a girl out of the place earlier in the evening (some clubs require that the girls stay to perform).
If you enjoy a disco-type of setting where the music is lound and the lights are low, Lapsus should be a great place for you.
My recommendation to those of you who like a place where the women perform, you will find better selections a little bit farther from the city at Le Petit Chateau.

Upon the recommendation of Boca Chica pat, who posted about this place a few weeks
ago, I made this my first stop on my recent S.D. trip.
Austreias is the casa in the northern part of the city, where college girls are available between 3 and 7 pm. Follow Pat's directions and you will have no problem getting there. Except that the adrees is 125, and not 25. Still you can't miss it, it's a green house with yellow doors.
After knoking three times (as Pat instructed), a woman asked who it was. I told her that Pat from Boca Chica sent me (in spanish of course). The door was then opened, and a smiling elderly woman greeted me. Three girls were standing in the room with her, but none of them impressed me. Sensing my disappointment, she led to the back where a lovely latina creature was waiting. Angelna was 20 years old, slender, with a nice tight body on her. After paying the 200 peso salida, we walke to the Hotel El Principe a block away. Price for the room was 125 pesos. It featured a large bed with large mirrors both on the ceiling directly above the bed, and one right next to it. Makes for a very inseresting viewing experience!
Anyways, Angelina informed me that she had one daughter, and that she was sneaking out of the house (as Pat had noted). She had to be back by a quarter to seven. I offered her 400 pesos; she asked for 600; we settled on 500. In retrospect, she was worth more; so I tipped her 100 after she took care of me twice between 4.30 and six. She was all I could ask for. Very non-pro like, very sweet, and very eager to please.
If you're fortunate enough to find her at Casa Austreias, you won't be disappointed.
She told me she normally works there between Thursdays and Saturdays.
Santo Domingo
Australia's aka The Yellow Door aka Casa
Familia -
I stopped at Australia's just to say hello. she greeted me like a long lost brother.
She had about 6 girls all of whom were cute and friendly. I was on my way to my novia's
casa and couldn't pick a lovely. I reminded her I was one of the guys who was there
in December when she lifted all the
girl's shirts up for us to take pictures of and she proceeded to have each one introduce
herself to me and Australia lifted up each one's shirt to show me a boob. Australia's
is just off Maximo Gomez avenue just a couple blocks east of the OMO factory. They
make detergent and toothpaste and it looks like a prison. Taxi Dave can take you
there. They are only open from about 4-8 so don't wait too late.
Lapsus - I have a special affinity for this place. My friend Evalisa from my December trip gave me a welcome like I've never had in the states. She left the guy she was with when I asked Manual (one of the waiters and Evalisa's brother's brother-in-law) to fetch her, she then danced in only 1 number of the show and informed the management she was done for the night. We went to the Jaragua Hotel to listen to the band, dance, shoot some craps then to my hotel. (Side note on Jaragua. It is a very nice Hotel.
There are plenty of chica hanging around the slot machines near the lounge or in the lounge itself. I saw one eying me and had another start a "Are you staying at the Hotel?" lines but I was just playing before I went to Lapsus). I saw Evalisa again after I got back from Boca. I would have seen her a third time but she was sick. I then made do with a real petite gal from Santiago who's name I never did catch. For those of you who don't already know, to give you and idea what a small, seemingly insignificant gift means to these girls, Evalisa was still carrying the toothbrush I gave her in December in her overnight bag.
Tabu (next to Lapsus) - had some talent coming in but Dave and I were pretty early (only 11:00). I went back on my last night but it was a Sunday and they were closed.
Casa Rosada - This place is everything Ronin said it was. About 12 girls, all would be more than bring a smile to my face. Friendly, all colors and cute. I finally chose a tight bodied 19 yo with a great smile, long hair and great shape. ($1500DR about $100US)
Hotel Cervantes - convenient to Mona Lisa's, Lapsus, El Conde, etc. about $50 for a Jr. Suite. included 2 queen beds, couch, fridge, phone and large bathroom although I never could more than 2 towels a day. The TV was useless in the 2nd room I had after I returned from Boca and I had to get the A/C fixed. It worked fine but made a hell of a noise. Richard the telephone operator hooked me up with a fairly new Hyundai (sp) for about $40 a day unlimited mileage. This came in very handy since my girlfriend lives about 15km north of the Hotel and we also used it to drive to La Romana to see Altos De Chavon. Alto De Chavon is right next to the Casa Campo compound. The drive was nice but Altos De Chavon (recreated 16th century estate) was overrated. Good thing it was free.
Mona Lisa's Massage - #35 Godoy st. at the
corner of Santiago and Godoy. 5 blocks from Cervantes. I stopped in here on 2 consecutive
afternoons. All I can say is it was an
unbelievable experience. Think nude complete body massage (hers and yours), coconut
lotion, honey and a great BJ. I've been to massage parlors all over Atlanta and this
tops them all. There were about 10 girls to choose from and I think any one of them
would be well worth twice the price. BTW, they are twice the price to most but thanks
to JD in Santo Domingo we get a TSM discount of $50. You can and should tip the girls
because they only get $14 of the fee. My advice is stop in, have a beer and take
your time looking over the choices. They are cute, sexy, friendly and when you make
your pick you will begin a journey you may not want to ever end. It was all I could
do afterwards to sit and drink another cold Presedente just to calm down. My legs
were like rubber, so I couldn't walk back to the hotel for a few minutes anyway.
Sueno Tropical - Taxi Dave and I stopped
to check on this place. This place is a villa with (809) 526-2600 5 bedrooms about
15km east of Boca Chica. It has food, an outdoor bar, pool and whirlpool. It looked
nice and quaint. There is no beach and the surf slaps up against the sea wall. They
used to supply girls of your choice for a fee that included the room and all your
food and drinks. It has since changed hands. I met one of the new owners (Ricardo
Beauregard) who is also cook. He is French-Canadian (I think) and seemed like a nice
guy. He said they are doing some renovations and it should open this month. The prices
were very cheap in the
low-season (around $40). They aren't sure what the prices will be in the high season.
He said they would not be supplying girls but feel free to bring your own. It is
isolated but a nice place. The best room with have a jacuzzi.
Sports Books - There are sports books in Santo Domingo. There is even one on the El Conde. I wouldn't even have noticed it since it was so small but they had a big board outside on the ground with all the MLB, NBA & NHL lines on it. I saw 2 others on Maximo Gomez Avenue on my way to Villa Mella north of town.
