Discos and other Bars in Bangkok

Bangkok has MANY discos, bars and after-hours clubs outside the regular "tourist" haunts you are probably used to frequenting. Some are easy to find and some are not so easy to find. One thing they all appear to have in common though are women who are available for fun (both in the disco and back at your hotel room all night). There may be a charge and there might not be. This is one thing that has always baffeled me -- seems it just depends on how much the particular girl likes you (and what her REAL agenda is).

There is an area in Bangkok known as the RCA. This area is home to many dance clubs, discos and bars. It is not frequented (at least not heavilly so) by tourists. But it is frequented by tons of nubile Thai girls looking for a good time. I will be providing much more info on this area in a future report. I have only been there once and I was toast by the time I arrived (thanks to some friends and perhaps a bit too much drinking earlier in the evening. All I can tell you for now is this -- it is worth checking out the RCA if you are into the hunt for a real girlfriend or if you just want to be a little more sporting about getting hooked up for the evening.

I'd like to relate some good experiences I have had in Bangkok at the Siam Square area. Siam Square is a major shopping center area as well as the home of Bangkok's Hard Rock Cafe and NovoTel Hotel/Disco.

For those of you who have never ventured to the Hard Rock Cafe in Bangkok, trust me it is a treat not to be missed. It IS NOT the same as Patpong, Soi Cowboy or Nana, however many beautiful women show up here each night, especially on the weekends. Likewise, at the NovoTel Disco (in the lower level of the NovoTel Hotel). Nice dance-floor here. I'd suggest going to the Hard Rock around 8pm, hanging around for a few hours and if nothing you see makes you happy, take the short walk down the street to the NovoTel disco -- and ask a lady to DANCE -- you'll have it made.

This is NOT for everyone since you have to do a little work - but it is worth it. Like all Thai women, these women like to have fun, etc. These beauties are usually dressed up for a night on the town, although there are exceptions. Almost all of them are for sale for the evening (and are anywhere on the price scale from free to 3,000-5,000 baht.) Yeah 3,000 baht is $120 US dollars but not much compared to what that would buy you in the US. Also, if they like you (i.e. you aren't butt ugly and relatively around their age ), they will take you home for free and even look for a longer term relationship (remember, these are upscale ladies in looks, smarts and what they want - so if you have some bucks, or live in Bangkok and have (or rented) a nice car, etc.) you'll have it made.

This may sound just like trying to pick up a woman in a US bar but there are some distinctive differences. 1) it is easy and your success rate will be VERY high and 2) you get oh so much more for your money and these girls are Soooooo sweet! I'd relate this method of finding a woman in Bangkok kinda like bow-hunting for a deer opposed to using a 30/30. It's a lot more challenging, but the payoff is much bigger and more rewarding.
